You will receive ongoing support from your Mentoring Prison Officer throughout your time on the Unlocked programme with bi-weekly group supervisions and one-to-one coaching sessions. Our MPOs take a solutions-focused approach to support you to overcome some of the day-to-day challenges that you may face on the landings.

Starting from Summer Institute and continuing throughout your time on the programme, MPOs provide regular training so you are able to have the greatest impact possible. You will also have the opportunity to learn more about the issues that impact the type of prison in which you are working, and you may be able to visit some of our other partner prisons during your time on the programme. This will give you the opportunity to share learnings with other members of your cohort and to see examples of best practice which could be implemented in your prison.

Our Mentoring Prison Officers will support you to build outstanding leadership skills on the Unlocked programme so that you can drive rehabilitative change. They will help you to identify development opportunities such as taking on additional responsibility in your prison, speaking at external events, designing frontline innovation projects, and more.
