Mentoring Prison Officer

Ryan first joined Unlocked Graduates in 2022 as a participant. While on the programme he worked on the substance recovery wing before moving to the Segregation Unit. He has championed staff support throughout his time in the service by providing TRiM support, and completing his dissertation on how staff wellbeing impacts prisoner outcomes. He graduated in 2024, winning the cohorts choice award for his relentless optimism and positivity towards staff and prisoners despite the challenging nature of the prison officer role.

Ryan continues to support staff as an MPO, a role he recognises as hugely important from his own time on the programme.
