Mentoring Prison Officer

Max joined HMPPS in 2020 as an Unlocked graduate working in HMP Belmarsh. He worked as an associate trainer at Summer Institute, supporting the training of new Unlocked participants, then took up the role of Apprenticeship Coach at HMP Belmarsh and HMP/YOI Isis. He currently works as the Mentoring Prison Officer for HMP Brixton and HMP Belmarsh.

Max is passionate about improving staff culture and maintaining high standards of professionalism in prisons, which are what attracted him to the MPO role. He is also active in the Unlocked Graduates Ambassador community, closely supporting work at Prisons Solved, the Ambassador think tank.
