Mentoring Prison Officer

Liam has been a Prison Officer at HMP Wealstun since 2017, and has worked across many different residential wings during this time, most recently the induction unit. He joined Unlocked Graduates in 2024 after being attracted to the role by the positive impact the Unlocked graduates had within his own prison.

He is the Mentoring Prison Officer at HMYOI Wetherby and supports the 2023 and 2024 cohorts. He is passionate about the role due to the high levels of support you can offer as an MPO to frontline Prison Officers during the early stages of their career and beyond, and is particular keen on highlighting the importance of staff welfare within the prison service.
