Christian first joined HMPPS in 2021, beginning his career working with foreign national offenders. Since then, he has gained experience across several key areas of prison life, including the Induction Unit, Safer Custody, and a residential Supervising Officer.
His work has focused on supporting individuals through the early stages of custody and promoting a culture of safety and wellbeing. He has helped develop initiatives such as a self-isolation strategy and a debt management plan for prisoners struggling financially. Projects aimed at giving people the structure and support they need to make positive progress.
He wanted to become a Mentoring Prison Officer to help new staff realise their potential and understand the impact they can have on those in their care. Christian hopes to empower graduates to be confident, compassionate, and professional, creating environments where both staff and prisoners can thrive.
