To support your understanding of the techniques contained within Leading Prison Landings: The Unlocked Guide to Jailcraft and then build them into your practice, we have produced a range of additional resources. You may wish to use these in your training, with a coach or mentor, or on your own to improve your practice.
The videos
To accompany the techniques contained within this book, we have created a suite of videos. We have tried to replicate real scenarios, and these videos were largely filmed in real custodial environments in order to make them as realistic as possible. However, every prison – and every wing in every prison – will look different, so we ask that you adapt these models to your own working environment, creating mental models that will enable you to build these techniques into your practice.
These videos should be used alongside our other resources, such as the full training manual which has guidelines, examples and success checks contained, allowing you to model the strategies effectively, or our new Pocket Guide. They may be useful if you are practising the techniques on your own with the help of a mirror or a camera, while you may also wish to discuss what you see in the videos with a coach or mentor.
The videos include actors alongside a group of real prison officers. These officers agreed to feature because they feel strongly about the need for high-quality training materials for frontline prison staff. We are constantly looking to improve and develop these models, so we ask that anyone finding fault with anything in these videos raise them with the authors of the book rather than with the staff themselves.

Additional resources
Our new handbook, Leading Prison Landings: A Pocket Guide is intended to be an easy-to-use resource for frontline staff to build these strategies into their practice. It outlines each of the 24 strategies established by the full training manual, with short summaries and memorable visuals to support you to implement them effectively.
If you are responsible for training or supporting frontline staff in prisons, you will find all the resources you need to apply our model on this website. Digital versions of the Pocket Guide (and accompanying Poster) can be found here, while individual pages for each of the strategies contain the corresponding videos and training slides.
