    Fundraising and Executive Coordinator

    Unlocked Graduates is seeking an exceptional Fundraising and Executive Coordinator to support our CEO, External Relations team and the wider organisation. We are a start-up organisation so there is lots of scope for the right candidate to make the role their own and progress. We are looking for someone an all-rounder who is organised, with a keen eye for detail, enjoys writing professionally and has a can do attitude.

    You will believe in, and have a strong passion for the mission of the organisation, and be a key team member, helping the whole organisation to achieve its goals. We are a movement for change, and are seeking a bright and capable individual who is willing to go the extra mile to make this happen.

    HIGHLIGHTS OF THE ROLE

    • Act as ‘gatekeeper’ for the CEO, taking telephone calls and managing high volumes of email correspondence
    • Manage busy diary, liaising with a wide range of external organisations including prisons and MPs to organise visits and meetings
    • Draft formal written correspondence
    • Prioritise urgent correspondence and action points

    Recruitment Officer

    We are looking for a dynamic and highly-motivated individual to join our new Recruitment team. You will play an important role in attracting and selecting the highest quality applicants to work in prisons with Unlocked Graduates.

    The Recruitment Officer is responsible for supporting the delivery of our recruitment strategy to attract high-calibre candidates to the role of a prison officer and guide them through all stages of the process: from initial attraction of applicants through university careers and off-campus events, to screening and assessing candidates and supporting them up until the point that they start the programme.

    HIGHLIGHTS OF THE ROLE

    • Build our brand by running events and presentations, encouraging students and graduates to join Unlocked.
    • Manage relationships with key stakeholders at university careers services and with advertising organisations. This may include attending and presenting at external meetings and liaising and negotiating with stakeholders to support our recruitment goals.
    • Develop and deliver recruitment activities in order to maintain and grow a pipeline of high-quality applicants.
    • Ensure the Unlocked mission, values and messaging are consistently applied in a way that encourages high quality applications.

    Operations and Office Manager

    We are seeking an exceptional Operations and Office Manager to support our expansion. We are a start-up organisation so offer a blank slate for the right candidate to work with. We are looking for someone with a keen eye for detail, a can do attitude, an expert who can fix the problem and develop the solution.

    You will believe in, and have a strong passion for the mission of the organisation, and be a key team member, helping all departments to achieve their goals. We are a movement for change, and are seeking a bright and capable individual who is willing to go the extra mile to make this happen.

    HIGHLIGHTS OF THE ROLE

    • Develop and manage office and ICT systems, including training staff,contract management and procurement
    • Manage the office budget,and supervise office-based volunteers
    • Act as Health and Safety Officer, Fire Warden, and First Aid Officer
    • Lead the operational management, and contribute to the operational strategy and design, of our expansion programme
    • Support the company secretary with governance compliance and statutory reporting

    Finance Manager

    We are recruiting for an outstanding Finance Manager (part-time) to join our Operations and Finance Team. This is a broad role and a great opportunity to support a start-up organisation to develop the finance systems and culture we need to achieve our mission. Unlocked Graduates is currently incubating within a well-established and expert charity called Catch22.

    The key priorities for this role will include managing relationships with the Catch22 finance and payroll teams, and leading the effective implementation of our finance systems as we become an independent organisation. We have ambitious plans to grow our programme, and are looking for a mission focused and effective part time Finance Manager to help us achieve this.

    HIGHLIGHTS OF THE ROLE

    • First contact for all finance related queries, and responsible for all financial reporting
    • Manage relationship with the outsourced Catch22 finance team
    • As the finance expert within organisation, build capacity and train staff to ensure compliance with finance systems and processes
    • Manage statutory reporting to Charity Commission, Companies House, and HMRC
    • Manage key finance relationships with HMRC, customers, suppliers, the auditors and the charity’s bankers

    Brand Managers – Undergraduate vacancy

    We are looking for enthusiastic and proactive students to promote the opportunities we offer, as well as our vision more widely, across their university. We are particularly keen to reach out to under-represented groups, including students from BAME backgrounds to improve the diversity of the prison workforce. If you are an active member of student communities and are comfortable working independently you could be ideal for this role. If you are keen to raise awareness of the importance of rehabilitation, and a confident communicator and networker, we would love to hear from you.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for students who are interested in developing their core skills to strengthen their CV in pursuit of graduate jobs and for those who are motivated by new and exciting opportunities.

    HIGHLIGHTS OF THE ROLE

    • Paid the Living Wage of £8.45 per hour (£9.75 with London weighting), amounting to around £330 per term.
    • Flexible hours – typically four hours a week, which you can work around your studies and other commitments to suit you, due to the independent nature of this work.
    • Develop various skills, including communication, independent working, marketing, networking, planning, and organising.
    • Gain experience in promoting a growing organisation.
    • Play a key role in Unlocked Graduates’ work to build awareness of the positive work that goes on in prisons and how society can nurture a rehabilitative attitude towards prisoners.
    • Contracted from September 2017 – March 2018.
